Pallet Racks in Dallas, TX
Selective pallet rack is the workhorse of North Texas distribution. One pallet deep, an aisle on each face, and a forklift can pull any load without moving another.
Most buildings we lay out between the Stemmons Corridor and the Southern Dallas County Inland Port start here. Mixed SKUs, 3PL contracts that change every year, and retail replenishment all favor open access over density.
Why Selective Rack Fits So Many DFW Buildings
Dallas–Fort Worth sits on I-35, I-20, I-30, I-45 and I-635, with BNSF and Union Pacific rail and DFW Airport cargo. Most of Texas and Oklahoma is a day's drive away.
That reach is why regional distribution centers cluster here. Their inventory rarely stays put; SKU mixes shift with each customer and season.
Selective rack handles that churn. Beam levels move in a few hours, and a bay that held consumer goods last spring can take auto and truck parts this fall.

Two Very Different Building Stocks
Clear height drives frame height, beam count, and how many pallet positions a bay can hold. In this market the range is wide:
- Newer 32–40 ft clear tilt-wall bulk buildings at the Inland Port, AllianceTexas, and the Great Southwest Industrial District support tall frames and many beam levels.
- Older 18–24 ft clear buildings near Stemmons, Garland, and Mesquite need shorter frames, and column spacing often dictates aisle placement.
- Moving between the two? Frames from a low building can often be reused, but beam layouts almost always change.

Beams, Pallets, and Forklift Reach
Every selective layout starts with your heaviest pallet and its footprint. A 48 x 40 pallet at 2,500 lb needs a different beam than one at 1,200 lb.
Next comes the truck. Your forklift's lift height and right-angle stacking need set the aisle width, and that choice decides how many rows fit the floor.
Narrower aisles add positions but may require a different truck. We show both options in CAD so the tradeoff is visible before anyone orders steel.

Pallet Rack Questions From DFW Buyers
More Storage Systems
Pushback Rack
Two to six pallets deep from one aisle, without giving up much reach.
Pallet Flow Rack
Load one side, pick the other, and let gravity enforce first in, first out.
Drive-In Rack
Deep storage lanes replace intermediate aisles. The forklift enters the structure to place and retrieve pallets.
Cantilever Rack
Arms with nothing in front of them, built for lumber, pipe, and anything a pallet can't hold.
Carton Flow Rack
Cases advance to the picker instead of the picker hunting for cases.
